Black Bottom Project Is Currently on Hold Due to Covid-19
The Black Bottom Project seeks to record and broadcast seminal stories of African-Americans from all across the United States. When I say seminal stories, what does that mean? I'm talking about that story, that one situation that helped shape you to make you who you are today. Something that you encountered, that you experienced in your life that is the core part of who you are.
We all had a moment. We all had that something occur as we were growing up. It may have been at a very young age. It may have come in your adolescence or perhaps it happened as an adult. Each of us had an experience that imparted – knowledge, wisdom, or a truth. That intensely personal story. It’s what I want to know, what I want to hear. Let’s share it with the world.
I’m talking real life. It may be a feel good story or a painful, shameful situation you needed to go thru and now get off your chest. Whatever it is, we want to hearyour story. These are the stories we want to share. I need to hear from real people working real jobs and dealing with real stuff every day.
In my view, we cannot be invisible any longer in this country. These intensely personal stories told in your own words and recorded by me will become part of our YouTube channel or Podcast. Our goal is to collect 1,000 three to eight minute stories told by ordinary Black people about defining moments in their lives uniquely specific to America.
